The project aims to monitor and analysis of hate speech in the media and public discourse, development of recommendations, and public outreach campaign to prevent violence and discrimination against minorities in order to protect human rights and basic freedoms.
The experts’ team will be monitoring broadcast, print, online media of the Kyrgyz Republic and social networks, detecting and analyzing incidents related to hate speech against various groups: LGBT, ethnic, religious minorities, that have stereotypes and prejudices in the society.
Information containing results of research will be spread under the project, tools for journalists to overcome hate speech will be developed, public discussion, consultation, exchange of opinions will be organized.
The project is implemented by School of Peacemaking and Media Technologies of the Network of Social Mediators Public Foundation with the financial support of the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
